Happy Holidays - Grand Junction, CO

One of my favorite Christmas traditions is looking at holiday light displays, there are several favorites in my home town. Whether you are local or visiting the Grand Valley, these displays are worth the stop.

Crestview Neighborhood: located in North Grand Junction between 27 1/4 Rd and 27 1/2 Rd.

Northridge Subdivision: located on North 1st Street (26 Rd), just past the stop light. There is also a very popular synchronized light show, which you may have to wait patiently to see.

The Blue House: Located off 26 Road on Partridge Court.

15th Street & Cedar: North 15th Street

Downtown Grand Junction: Spend some time downtown, there are a number of older homes in the historic district that are nicely decorated, then visit the downtown area. I highly recommend experiencing the lights on Main Street by foot or bike so you can truly enjoy all that twinkles. Many of the downtown stores have beautiful window displays, each unique and whimsical in their own way.

Make your way through the streets east of Downtown Grand Junction, with stops at: 10th & Gunnison, Hill between 7th & 8th, and 9th & Ouray.

Grab a hot cocoa and take a walk down Main Street. If your pups enjoy an evening of looking at lights, make a pit stop by the Botanical Garden on 7th Street, and take a short walk on the Riverfront Trail back behind the garden to check out the lights.

Hope West: Located off 12th Street before you get to Horizon Drive. To fully enjoy the display, drive around the back by the access to Spoons Restaurant and take a short walk through the display. Spoons also has an array of sweet treats, hearty meals, and warm drinks; making these lights a good starting or ending point.

Mickey House: Located on Orchard Mesa off Santa Clara Ave. This Mickey Mouse themed display is a walk-through with all sorts of lights and inflatables. The owners of the home invite visitors onto their property and they often have hot cocoa and baked goods available for sale. If you are lucky, you may get to meet Santa during your visit.

Downtown Fruita: If you love bikes and dinosaurs, then make your way to Fruita and stop by the Civic Center and Circle Park, this is another opportunity to bundle up and get out and walk so you can earn your Christmas cookies at the end of the night.

Canyon View Drive: Check out GIANT inflatables, some taller than the house they stand next to. Take a drive along South Camp and look for this house on the corner of Canyon View Dr. and South Camp.

Happy Holidays from Colorado Meanderings, I hope you enjoy these light displays as much as I have this season and in many seasons past. Please be respectful of the properties and other light peepers. Be kind and have a blessed holiday!
